Habitat Homeowner Sarah Aldrich

“The more I learn about Habitat, the more I realize how amazing and helpful the program is.”

Sarah Aldrich and 3 year-old Andrew are our fourth Nancy Park homeowners.  They purchased their home Summer 2010.

Sarah has worked at the University of Michigan Hospital as a Patient Transporter for eight years.  She always lived in apartments, but that became hard after her son was born.  Andrew always talked about how he wanted a backyard to run around and play in.

“When I found out I qualified to become a homeowner with Habitat, I felt like I won the lotto!  The more I learn about Habitat, the more I realize how amazing and helpful it is.”

Now that she’s been in her home for a few months, many of Sarah’s dreams have become reality.  “Andrew is in heaven.  As soon as he wakes up he wants to go to the backyard to play, even before he has his clothes on!”

Sarah is excited for families to move into all the homes in her neighborhood: “It’s great knowing that Habitat people are going to be here because I know they will be great neighbors and they are going to stay.  Plus I love the neighborhood…it’s really cozy!”
