In order to qualify, you must be able to demonstrate: |

A need for simple, decent housing |

You must not qualify for homeownership through conventional financing |
| * |
Your current housing is overcrowded |
| * |
Your current neighborhood is unsafe |
| * |
Your housing has serious long-standing maintenance problems |
|
| |
The ability to pay (see income guidelines below) |

You must fall between 30-60% of the area median income |
| * |
You must have a reliable income source that can be verified |
| * |
You have a credit history that demonstrates timely payments |
|
| |
A willingness to partner with Habitat |

You must have a plan for completing 300 "sweat equity" hours for each adult living in the house |

You will need to complete and provide requested documents in a timely manner |

Additional Requirements |
* |
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent residency status (green card) |

At the time of application, applicants must have lived or worked in Washtenaw County for the past 12 months |
| * |
Three years must have passed since any bankruptcy has been filed and paid (discharged) |
| * |
Applicants may not currently have a mortgage |
