Our volunteers have built nearly 80 homes for families in need in Washtenaw County. We depend on donations of cash, building materials, professional services and property. You can buy surplus and used building supplies, appliances, furniture, and tools - we accept donations too.

Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley (HHHV) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization that works to eliminate poverty housing. We build homes in partnership with families who demonstrate need and a willingness to work with Habitat for Humanity by helping to build a home of their own. With safe, decent and affordable housing, families are better able to concentrate on parenting, employment, education and community involvement. Each Habitat build site provides a setting for people from all walks of life to work side by side in partnership with future homeowners.

HHHV depends on volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of cash, building materials, professional services and property to build simple, decent homes with low-income families. Habitat homeowners qualify for an interest-free mortgage from Habitat, make a modest down payment, and put in at least 300 hours (per adult household member) of “sweat equity” building their home. With the help of thousands of volunteers, HHHV has built nearly 80 homes in Washtenaw County since 1990.

Our affiliate is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and the staff consists of seven full-time (including our ReStore Manager) and four part-time employees.  We work with several AmeriCorps and Vista volunteers, and frequently involve interns and work-study students in our programs.
