Meet Keith Curry

Keith Curry

“My name is Keith Curry. First, I would like to thank God for seeing me through some rough times in my life, and getting me ready for an organization like Habitat. I can say with all my mind and heart that I’m so thankful for the group of people who work for and formed Habitat for Humanity, the many people behind the scenes, and the ones I personally met and have contact with. Thank you so much for making it available for me to obtain a home.

I’ve always had determination. This determination was based on self. If I thought it up, it had to be a good idea. I was like old blue eyes Frank Sinatra (I did it my way). Bob Marley said ‘Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.’

So how do you go about accomplishing that freedom? First, I had to conceive to my innermost self, that what I think I know and what I do know about living is a vast difference.

I moved into Friends of the Masters (FOTM) at the end of 2009. This Christian-based group taught me the spiritual side of living, and reintroduced me to Alcoholics Anonymous. That helped me along the way. They say: that everyone wants to hear from God, but nobody wants to stop talking.

Fast-forward to today; I’m working for FOTM as the on-site campus administrator dealing with the daily operations. I also have a carpet cleaning service, KB Carpets, that I started in 2014. If you know anyone or even yourself that’s in need of a change in their or your life, you can email me at Keith@friendsofthemaster.org. Also, if you know of anyone in need of carpet cleaning services, I can be reached at Kbcarpets54@gmail.com, and the website is https://kbcarpetscleaning.com.

Thank you one and all...may God bless you.”

Keith’s home is our 2021-22 Student Build, in partnership with the South and West Washtenaw Consortium career and technical education program, the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor and NSK Americas, Inc.
